Assam has achieved a significant milestone in school education, rising to the 12th position among 36 States and UTs in the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 for 2024–25, released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The state has made a remarkable jump from the 27th position in the previous assessment cycle, reflecting continued progress in strengthening school education, learning outcomes, infrastructure, governance, and technology-enabled learning.
This progress highlights the impact of focused interventions and sustained efforts to improve educational access and quality across the state. It also reinforces Assam’s commitment to creating equitable learning opportunities and a stronger foundation for every student.
