The Assam Tele Education conducted a special learning session on Saturday, 22 November 2025, focusing on one of Assam’s most important natural resources. The session titled “Jute Journey: Cultivating Careers, Innovating Futures” gave students a comprehensive understanding of the jute industry and its growing opportunities.

We were honored to host Shri Anik Kumar Dey, Zonal Manager, Jute Corporation of India, as the guest speaker for this event. With his deep knowledge and industry experience, Shri Dey guided students through the entire world of jute cultivation, processing, and commercialization.
Highlights of the Session
The session offered students a rich understanding of Assam’s jute ecosystem, beginning with how jute is cultivated, processed and supported by the state’s farming communities. They explored the creative side of jute by seeing both traditional crafts and modern eco-friendly innovations which encouraged them to imagine new and unique product ideas. Shri Dey’s industry experience added great value as he shared practical insights into market trends, entrepreneurship possibilities and the future scope of the jute sector. Through these discussions, students also discovered the wide range of career opportunities available in this field, including roles in agriculture, design, manufacturing, research and business development. This helped them see jute not just as a crop but as a promising industry full of potential for their future.
