Professor Anupam Saikia is a renowned Indian Mathematician and at present is a professor
in the Department of Mathematics at IIT Guwahati, India. He is the first wrangler of Cambridge
University from Assam. Following a brief period of time at IIT, Bombay, Prof. Saikia has been a
member of the faculty at IIT, Guwahati since 2005, becoming full professor in 2015. He is also
the editor-in-chief of Journal of the Assam Academy of Mathematics and a member of the
editorial boards of the Journal of the Ramanujan Mathematical Society and the Bulletin of the
Mathematics Teachers’ Association (India).
On 29 April 2023, Prof. Saikia conducted a special session from Guwahati Main Studio to enlighten students on the importance of learning Mathematics, its real life applications, and helped to inculcate scientific temperament in students
