“I’ll plant till my last breath.” – Padma Shri Jadav “Molai” Payeng.
Plants play a crucial role in regulating global temperatures and contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases by absorbing carbon dioxide from the air and releasing oxygen. Planting is a crucial step toward mitigating the effects of climate change. Additionally, planting trees and shrubs provides shade, which can assist in lowering the temperature of the air and ground.
On April 2, 2023, Padma Shri Awardee Jadav Molai Payeng conducted a session on planting trees for Assam Tele-Education Schools from the central studio. The session aimed to educate students about the importance of tree planting and its impact on the environment, emphasizing how it can help mitigate climate change and support ecological balance.
