The UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) requires extensive preparation, as a professor’s career is crucial for advancing knowledge, shaping future leaders, and fostering intellectual growth through research and teaching. They contribute to societal progress, develop critical thinking in students, and guide professional development. However, many are discouraged from taking this same route because of the financial investment required, job insecurity during those years, and the exam is very competitive, with difficult questions, time pressure, and negative marking, which discourages many aspiring educators.
